Food collection at Superquinn Finglas Dec 2005
Once again the people of Finglas, Dublin proved that they are a kind and caring community. Despite having a relatively high unemployment rate they donated about 3000 euro of food for the poor. From Friday lunch time until 9 pm and from 9 am to 7 pm on Saturday we collected about 18 trolly loads of food and goodies
Lions Fred Crowe and Veronica Walsh oganised family to friends to take shifts over the weekend of the 9th and 10th December.
A good time was had by all. All the food was given to the St Vincent de Paul in Finglas, Rivermount parish in west Finglas and the Dominick Street Day Centre.
Here are a few photos of the collections

Service at St Josephs Clonsilla, Dublin
On the 7th December 2005 Santa Claus as usual visited St Josephs Centre, Clonsilla. This Centre provides a residential and day service for 160 older residents in an atmosphere of homeliness and comfort. The priority of all those who care for the residents is to respect their dignity and privacy and to improve the quality of their lives.
Entertainment was provided by Tony Barrett and Dublin Lions Eddie Walsh (a.k.a. the bearded one) , Bob Murphy, Fred Crowe, Stephen Kelly, Aideen and Paul McMahon attended. Refreshments were provided on the night in the form of soft drinks and chocolate bars.
Santa gave each resident a big kiss, a Christmas gift in a nice bag and a good time was had by all . Some were lucky to have their photo taken with Santa.
